Solving Error 403 in GetRight--download complete, WitP installed!

Post by tsimmonds »

Using GetRight seems to be the way around my satellite ISPs Equal Access maximum of 167MB download in a four hour period. Unfortunately when I try to resume downloading, I get an error message: "Error 403=forbidden. Aborting". I read in the "Downloading issues" thread that someone else had had the same problem. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?

Okay ::deep breath::

The apparent solution is in GetRight configuration. Internet/Login/FTP & Basic. You need to fill out the Server/Path, User Name, and Password. The Server/Path can be copied to the clipboard by double-clicking on the incomplete download job, then selecting Options/Download/Copy URL to clipboard. Right-click in the Server/Path field in the configuration window, and paste. The User Name is the e-mail address you gave when you bought the download. The Password is the last 5 digits of the credit card you used. Click the "Add" button. Click "Okay". Now you should be able to resume the connection just by double-clicking on the incomplete download job, or on the GetRight Icon down in the tray. After doing this I was able to resume downloading with no error message, and the file is now 51% downloaded, which is the furthest I have gotten so far. Hopefully it will still work again tomorrow to allow me to reconnect a couple more times and finish the DL! Good luck!
