CTD During Combat Animations

Post by KittyHawk »

I am experiencing a CTD when the combat animations try to play. If I rename Sound directory to Nosound the animations will work.

The things I have tried so far are updating my Sound Drivers, Video Drivers and have installed both Patches posted by Erik. Enabling or disabling Anti-Virus software makes no difference.

Any advice is welcome. DirectX test looks good and have the results if they would be helpful to anyone.

Thanks,

KHawk

Matrix is working on it, but from what I understand the only real solution at the moment is to rename the sound directory and play without sound.

Same here,

I also believe it is a sound problem because when I turn the animation off it happens when the sound start playing during the combat sequence.[&:]

As I wrote above, rename you sound directory (NOSOUND or something like that). It will atleast let you play without crashing. Matrix is working on a fix for it.

Me too, my first "real" scenario (#6), crashes at first combat animation. Other than the major headaches with the tutorial i thought it was clear sailing...pun intended.
Alienware Area-51 P4 2.8 GHZ
GeForce FX 5700 Ultra 128 mg
1024 DDR Ram
Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum Pro
XP Home all latest drivers...
Plays best on Alienware[8|].
Note: This didn't happen with the tutorial.
