Creating replenishment TFs

Post by Morgan Schiff »

I'm playing Japan in the campaign game and it's mid-December 1941. I can't seem to create new replenishment TFs to my specifications. Even though a port shows say 10 TKs in port, none of them are available to add/transfer to the replenishment TF I try to create. Same goes for oilers. I've tried several ports with TK/AO but same result each time.

The only rep TF I have is the one I start with at sea (TF 2, 8 TK supporting the Pearl strike force). And if I use the auto-create option, I get at most ONE TK or AO and 3 DD or so. Is this a glitch or I am missing something here?

Thanks!

I never had any problem creating Repleneshment TF with Oilers and escorts as well as AE, AD, AS and even AR if I wanted to include them.

You cannot place tankers in a Replenishment TF. The Repl TF that you start with is an OOB anomoly; you can't create one with tankers like that during play.

I think the first thing you have to keep in mind os that only AOs are eligible for replenishement.

I just asked this question in another thread, so pardon the double post:

Once you've created a replenishment TF, how do you actually transfer oil from the AO to the ships in the other TF?

They don't transfer "oil", but "fuel"

All they have to do to transfer fuel is be in the same hex as a TF that is to be replenished, with the refueling TF and Replenishment TF both having Op points, then instruct the TF to be refueled to "replenish at sea"

Then there is a problem with the manual. Page 77, 6.1.4.1 Mission Types and Ships Allowed, Replenishment lists the following ship types as eligible: CVE, CL, CLAA, CS, DD, DE, PD, ML, MSW, AV, DM, DMS, AO, AP, PC, PF, SC, TK.

Not true.. TKs and AOs are allowed in replenishment TFs - look at TF 2 - the replenishment TF for KB - has both in it. I have used TKs and AOs in them without any trouble. I do not know why you would have trouble creating them...

Just checked it in a GC as the Allies. Have AKs, TKs and DDs anchored in San Francisco. When I try to create a Replenishment TF the only ships that list as eligible are the DDs.

Yes, I am having the same problem. The manual does say TKs are eligible for replenishment TFs and they definitely were in UV. This may or may not be a new feature for WitP but if it is the Manual needs to be corrected.
