The forum will be a tad slow, the server is defragging and stuff for most of the night, but should be back to normal tomorrow

I concur! If you're gonna show screenshots, just show 'em. I won't register just to look at pictures.

Thanks anyway.

Well, I tried to register, but didn't get a confirmation e-mail to activate the account. Will try again today.

I'd give it a couple of days Erik, I've found these 'respond by e-mail to confirm' sites can take a while. Personally I won't be registering just to look at screenies and I don't want to be a beta-tester, I get enough of that at work :) .

emails were sent this moring

we are replacing postcast with something better

as for regging, most people will change their mind when they have to reg to download the mod also:)

sorry, but thats not changing, at least not now, we need to get an idea of how many people are visiting this site per day, how many are intersted and all that, and I cant find any program/hacks that give that information unless people are registered, the guest logger seems to be broken, infact this these we moded seems to have a few problems(the topic review is busted still) it seems to be totaly random, and not only that, it picks up multiple hits, so if you view 3 pages in say 10 minutes, it logs you as 3 guests, and does not record the ip, sufficent to say ive seen the logs say we had 100 guests in about 2 hours, lets not forget I"m running this on a p3 550 with 256 megs of ram on a cable connection from home, its not like I have some uber internet based server.

I need to know what this server can handel and if I need to upgrade it before stuff gets serious, last time we didnt do that, and when it came time to download the mod we just put it up a pheagys server without thinking twice, ask him how impressed he was when his server went into total gridlock as about 100x the people we thought would download it started at the same second.

Can't you just use a web counter? In all seriousness, if you're not planning to make money from the site, why register?

If you want to know what people are interested in, why not just depend on your Forum?

Thanks

Its cause I'm stuipid, its why everybody does eveything lol

Seriously, if people cant jump through one little 2 second loop to make something easier for us, then to bad, not to sound harsh but we ARE doing all this for free, and I"m talking hours upon hours of work.

well the thing is, I dont know how much we would need, honestly it gets insane, like pheag said we couldnt belive what happened with the last mod. Shaw also complained to me when I had the html site up cause they were getting hit to much, you can see why I get a bit nervous about hosting on my own network lol

also it needs a sql server, apache web(duh), its own email server.

oh

I have turned off reg required on the screenshot forum, but not the others.

I would still like people to post any comments they may have, I want this to be the be all end all of b5 games/mods so we need all the input we can get

I know we can beat any b5 project out there in the graphics area(not to be cocky, we just can:)) but we still need a lot of input

You should probably post a visible announcement about mandatory reg somewhere. That one screen forum hanging there in complete solitude made me think there wasn't anything else besides it!
