broken scenarios in shining fortress

Post by altmunster »

Actually it looks like an entire sector is busted. I transfer to the 5th Battalion Janek sector, which is attached to a starbase in the sector. 7th Intercept Alpha squadron (I think it happens in "Bravo' too.) No matter what missions I select there is a problem. Either is says something to the effect of "Starshatter has encountered a problem. Character X is not in Janek sector" and will not start or it starts the mission with me in a non-fighter ship, usually a devastator. And sometimes when in the devastator I appear to be commingled with several other ships when I go to F3 viewing mode - bizarre.

The only way to avoid this is to avoid this particular sector and all its missions. Any ideas?

Post the contents of "Errlog.txt" from an instance where this happened. Note that errlog.txt is overwritten every time you re-start the program.

I'd still prefer that error logs were emailed to me directly.

Yeah, I see what is happening. Basically, the mission generator is used to creating missions where you start in or near an orbital carrier and then fly down to the planet surface. It's getting confused because here you are starting on the planet's surface and flying up to orbital space.

It happens every time, they all become blueberries.
Oh well, I'll get it right in the end.
