Do you control Subs or let AI?

there are plaenty of subs to go around. I'm currently sending 1-2 to shallow, port areas where the Japs have recently invaded or are trying to invade. They have successfully damaged or sunk 2-3 ships and Jap casualties are around 200+ soldiers. Not a lot but better than nothing. The other subs I'm grouping farther out waiting for any support ships and/or reinforcements. These should be easily picked up and sunk.

I control my own, and aside from the hour I spent [X(] moving all the subs to their designated points around Japan from Manilla it has been well worth it. Right now 01 Jan 41 Japan is completely blockaded. Subs will "hopefully" return to bases I have assigned depending on geo. area Dutch Harbor, Darwin, Pearl. Just about every turn their are atleast 2 sub attacks from them, and they have put a nice amount of Maru's of the bottom.

I have no doubt that human controlled subs will be more effective than the AI - if the AI doesn't cheat by looking at the convoy routes. Sub placement by the AI doesn't look bad, but all of us humans will quickly spot the favorite merchant pathways, and park our subs there for huge affect. I notice the bend in Indo-China along the coast is good, and there will be obvious pathways out of the DEI. I almost feel guilty taking control over the packs.
