Combat Summary screen covers map

Post by geozero »

Why does the Combat Summary screen that pops up block the location of where the combat is taking place? It appears that the map "centers" on the action, but the screen blocks the view. Now usually it's not so bad when the attack is a well known geographical location like Singapore, or Hong Kong, what when it says combat is taking place in hex 26,47, well hell I want to SEE WHERE THAT IS...

Would it make more sense that the Combat Summary box popped up a little lower on the screen, and that the map did not quite center, say it showed it just above the Summary box?????

Is this trivial? Maybe, but it takes away ever so slightly from game play when you have NO CLUE where the attack just took place.

Hell Singapore's under attack, better check that out, but hex 30,51, so what???

Why not cover the bottom of the screen where the base info appears?
So much WitP and so little time to play.... :-(

Alright, way to go geozero as I've been a little mystified about that myself. I was more in the hopes that I could move any and all windows that pop up, or resize them (which wouldn't do much good if the new windows didn't remember their former adjustments), but your idea for that particular window might work just as well.

Charles_22,

I don't think that the windows are resizeable or moveable basedon the programming used (though I am not a programmer or involved in WitP - past experience indicates that the windows of Matrix games are not moveable - bummer).

Mike Wood - thank you. I hope that a solution is at hand. Great game BTW...[:D]

It would be nice if we could move the dialogue box or at least resize it. But if neither of those options is feasible, then improving the centering as geozero suggested would be a big improvement.
