Foothill Base mission

No matter what happnes or how far away I am everytime I destroy foothill base I get killed when it goes up? What the hell is that about.
Why, because I said so that's why!!!!

The current explosion radius is somewhere around 40k, IIRC. It's being reduced in the first patch, which is currently due out on Monday.
