I just took on a new assignment (DDs). How come when I load a saved game my assignment always shows fighters, and I have to reselect which wing I want to fly for?

I've noticed the same even with fighters. If you transfer to one of the squadrons, when you reload you're reassigned back to the wing in general. My guess is that your current assignment isn't saved

It's saved, I think it's a bug. Same thing happens no matter what wing/ship you fly. You are re-assigned to the fighters when you load a saved game.
