Overland Supply

Hi all,

Just a quickie. Does the presence of LCU's in a hex prevent enemy supply passing through that hex (as opposed to just into it)? What about if the hex contains both friendly & enemy units?

The reason I ask is that the Japanese have a 100,000 man force besieging Rangoon with about 1.5:1 odds. I need to know whether I need to ship supplies in, or know that they will arrive overland as needed. Thinking more offensively, I could turn the tables & cut the entire Japanese force off by occupying a couple of hexesto the NE IF they can't trace supply through me.

I can find nothing in the manual that states that supply is blocked by LCU's, but it makes such good sense for them to do so.

I think I can help with this. I had a 3 month standoff at Akyab in late 42 with 100000 troops on each side. When I landed a Chindit brigade 1 hex south of Akyab and marched them inland to cut the track from Rangoon, the supply to the Japs at Akyab dried up. Three more weeks of deliberate and bombardment attacks, a few days of air attack at 2000' and then the whole lot just collapsed. One day combat odds of 1 to 1, the next day 27 to 1.......I guess they ran out of bullets. 100000 troops in the bag....on to Singapore!
