Crash to openning screen during tutorial

Post by Buck Beach »

In the Beginning tutorial I finish the Japanese first turn orders with no problem and start the Allied orders I get through the set up of the Land Air units and the Transport and the Bombardment TFs OK. After I select the ships for the Air Combat I set the TF orders, then when I try to access the carrier air groups I get kicked out to the WITP opening menu.

Edit

BTW I have already run the 2 patches 1.10 and for registration.

Did you apply the patches in the right order? If yes, then you may be struck by the sound bug (were working on a fix for that).

Please make sure to update grpahics cards drivers, sound card drivers and just to be save make sure you have latest DirectX running too. If that doesn´t help please rename the sound directory to "NOSound", this will bypass the sound untill we have a patch for that out.

I think that the drivers are current and so should the DirectX. Also sure I loaded the patches in order. Tried the NoSound and it didn't help.

Here is some addtional info I learned. It seems to only be happening in the tutorial and only in the Allies turn. It happens every time I try to access any ship in any TF when ships are in a TF in Port or a TF underway. Again only the Allies and only in the tutorial.

You are missing one of the patches if thats the case. Please re-install both ... I'm not sure which patch replaces the wpc001.dat file.

Are you running with a save file created prior to the patch being installed? If so, that would also cause the problem as saves do not get updated with scenario file changes.

Frag, I reinstalled the patches and that did it. Thanks

I'm very happy to hear that one! Don't need a new bug in the tutorial [X(]
