Graphics problem ...

Post by Sonny »

not related to hardware.

Last evening in a PBEM game I did all the resetting of switches etc. as I usually do. When I loaded the game turn I could not see my ships! So I listed them from the list all TF button and found the hex they were in. The movement ranges showed up, the patch showed up but no TF icon. I moved a few of the TFs this way then noticed I could see my opponents ships. Didn't try to click on them to see if I could give them orders and quickly got out of the game.

Told my opponent what happened and when he resent the turn everything worked fine. Fortunately the only TFs I saw were ones which were spotted in the correct version of the save file so no harm done. Certainly a strange happening. I thought my codebreakers had cracked the Japanese codes![X(]

Don't know. I was so happy that it worked that I forgot to ask.

I'll ask righ now - Hey Caltone what did you change between the bad turn you sent last night (where I could see your ships and not see mine) and the good turn??

Believe it or not, all I did was forward the email to you again. I had already run another PBEM so I knew my combat replay was different.

I just went to my sent items folder in outlook and forwarded you the original message with the attachments.

From what we discussed, I don't think you were seeing any of my ships that weren't already spotted. My CV's had been in the area awhile and your searches had em located along with the subs in the turn before.

Hehe this is true. We have had so many false starts (options reset, etc) that I think we both would have cried had this not worked.

Don't think I played another PBEM turn between the two turns you sent, but maybe I did. Even so, I reset the switches like I always do both before and after the combat replay. And when i discovered the problem and got out I checked the switches and reloaded and still had the problem. However, I'm not sure if I got all the way out of the game or not.

One thing I just remembered is that on the toolbar at the top the words Allied Turn were in red - usually they are white aren't they?

Another question, I don't think both of us are patched. Has anyone experienced issues when both players were not patched?

As long as you are the same version, you have the same set of problems [:D]

If you have different levels, you are inventing new things that we'll never be able to figure out [:D]

As for versions, even with the patch, versions are 1.0.

The problems started when we both patched. Before that I don't remember any problems except the sound CTD.
