Starshatter - Capturing fighters & Capital Ships? - Marine boarding parties?

Post by kinein »

Just curious if there is an aspect of the game much like either X2: the threat where you could force ships to surrender or the other way as seen in [ Independence War : 2 ] where you could capture Capital ships with Marine Assault Transports. Another representation of this is seen in Homeworld 2. I loveeeeee capturing in any game!! Which is why I have a copy of Pirates of the Carribean, because you can capture enemy ships. [&o]

I'm buying this game no matter what so either way it's great!!!
Aces of the Pacific - Privateer - X-Wing - Freelancer - X2 : the threat - now ... STARSHATTER :)

Yes and no. You can make missions where starship change IFF code when some condition is met. Condition could be to disable enemy carrier and then own transport go to its docking bay.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

kinein- regarding independence War 2: how big a ship do you get to fly? I thought it was restricted to corvette class, but your comment makes it sound like you can capture even bigger cap ships.
that is one reason i like starshatter so much, i.e. several flavors of ship to operate from fighter to carrier :)
