I you using Win XP SP1?

If so check the support forum. As a codec might be missing.

Dont build it yourself.

You choose the parts and have the geek in the shop build it.

I build my own. I built my own with in a few months of owning a PC (upgraded from a 233mhz to a 350mhz).

I agree it can be a pain but it also gives some satisfaction and why pay someone to do it when you can do it yourself. The extra money can go towards a better graphics card or something.
