It's only available for purchase online in Matrix's store, and only as a download right now.

You can get CD too. Or so I have heard. Doesn't any of the shops/stores buy the game and put it to shelves?
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Kinein,

Starshatter is currently only available direct through Matrix Games. Please use the "STORE" link at the top of the page to go to our online US store. In addition to buying the game and getting a link to download it, you can have a copy sent to you on CD ("CD on Demand") and starting in August we'll be also doing "Box on Demand". There are no current plans for retail distribution, we'll keep you posted if that changes in the future.

Regards,

- Erik

That's not how the business works. Retailers buy products from publishers/distributors at a reduced price (called a "wholesale" price) and then sell them in stores for the full retail price. There are all kinds of contract issues in selling through retail channels related to shelf placement, returns, price markdowns and so on. Retailers cannot just buy copies through the Matrix Games online store and re-sell them in a brick-and-mortar shop.
