One quick question on AC upgrades

I have the 12 BG and the 12BG/1 both at Luguna. The 12 BG is made up of Mitchells and the 12BG/1 is made up of Bolos. I am unable to upgrade the 12BG/1 to Mitchells. I do not even get the "upgrade" button to illuminate - greyed out. Luguna has 50K+ supply. Is it possible to upgrade subunits of airgroups? And if so, how?

No. You upgraded while you had a partial unit out there and to prevent problems partial air units do not receive replacements or upgrade. You should only upgrade air units that are whole. To correct this though just transfer that partial to a base that has Bolas and disband it. It'll get rid of the partial and the original unit can build up to full strength. Before upgrading it's helpful to use the List All Airgroups screen and sort by name to make sure there aren't partials around the map for the unit in question.

You know the more I think about this feature; the more I do not like it. there needs to be a method to upgrade partial units without having to disband them. This feature really make little sense. Perhaps this could be modified/fixed in future patches.

It's not by design, the fragments were recently changed to deal with some other issues, didn't see this one ... too busy looking at the other problem [;)]
