Effect of Patches to New and/or in Progress User Scenarios

Post by tanjman »

These are questions for the developers and/or beta testers.

Is there anything in a user created scenario that will be affect by patches to the WitP.exe file? Lets say I start creating a custom scenario based on scenario 15. Then a patch comes out, will any bug fixes require me to start over again from scratch using the new version of scenario 15? Or will I only need to start over if I want to include corrections & additions to the scenario 15 OOB?

Also in UV a scenario created with ver 1.40 would not work right with version 2.3. Will this be a problem with WitP?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

I would *Strongly* consider waiting until after the 1.20 patch (Very Soon Now) before starting work on your scenario.

As a rule bug fixes should not effect scenario data base files *Unless* the data base was the cause of the bug/issue, Patch 1.20 does have one such fix that I can think of right of the top of my head. So scenarios created after 1.20 will work fine down the road unless these is another change to the data base to correct an issue at some point later.
