Elmo,

True Update for older titles should be unaffected. Our new titles do not have True Update, instead all support and downloads are handled through the Member's Area.

Please note we should have an announcement up this week that explains this all more comprehensively, I'm just responding here as issues come up.

Whammo,

We're not selling any user information, period, nor do we plan to do so. The registration is to make sure that only legal owners of the game get the upgrades. Keep in mind we are now on a serial number system that removes the normal copy protections that can cause issues with some computers. Instead, we ask that you register with your serial number once. With that done, you get access to all lifetime patches and we get to make piracy a bit less convenient and thus put some additional money in John's pocket.

I don't really think this is a hardship at all given that this is a much more user-friendly form of copy protection when it comes to system compatibility, backup copies, etc.

Regards,

- Erik

Understood, and I apoligize.

Thanks

OK, thanks Erik. In the future it might save a lot of extra effort for you guys and avoid confusion for us guys if the announcement was posted before the change is made.

Elmo,

I agree. Any period of transition in procedures can be chaotic and when combined with the summer convention schedule and launch of three new titles, doubly so. Unfortunately, we have been through a bit of chaos in our communications and I apologize for that.
