Newbie Map and hex question?

Sorry for the spray of newbie questions but is there an easy way to determine the hex numbers of each hex like by map display? Or is there a quick way to determine where a base is located? For example how can I find out where Buka is located if I can not spot it on the map right away.

Yes I find this a problem. It is worse in WitP with such a massive map. I have suggested in the patch forum that the map centres on a TF and Base when it is selected from the list
