Post by Erik Rutins »

Convention Releases, Previews, Demos, Special Guests, Full Line of Games... Be There!

Woodbridge, NJ, June 22nd, 2004 - Matrix Games (www.matrixgames.com) will be present in force at Origins Games Convention 2004 (http://www.originsgames.com/) this year in Columbus, Ohio from June 24th through June 27th. Located in the wargaming section in Booth 1106, we have an amazing line-up of new game releases, demos, previews and special guests for wargamers to enjoy. If you’re going to be there, you won’t want to miss us! We’re looking forward to meeting you, hearing your suggestions, discussing great moments in wargaming and showing you what we have in the works for the rest of 2004! Of course, we will also have our full line of games in stock at our booth, including just released titles (read on) and will be happy to help you complete your collection.

We are delighted to announce that War in the Pacific and Starshatter have gone gold and will be released at Origins Game Convention.

That’s right, two new game releases in one show! Please check our press releases on each of these new titles for more information, we hope you are as excited as we are!

We will be showing previews of World At War, Battles in Normandy, Conquest of the Aegean, Empires in Arms, Flashpoint: Germany, Battlefields!, Combat Leader and our newest title from Koios Works Tin Soldiers: Alexander the Great.

On hand from 2 by 3 Games will be Keith Brors to discuss War in the Pacific and World At War. From Australia, we will be joined by two of our most respected developers, Dave O’Connor and Paul Scobell of Panther Games to present Conquest of the Aegean and discuss the Airborne Assault series. Also from down under Ronan Keating will be joining us from the legendary Strategic Studies Group (SSG) to show their upcoming Battles in Normandy, the next new game in the widely acclaimed and five star-rated Decisive Battles series. Russ Pearlman of Koios Works will be attending to show their exciting new ancient warfare game Tin Soldiers: Alexander the Great. Robert Crandall will be on hand to discuss Flashpoint: Germany and his work on the licensed World in Flames mega-wargame computer adaptation. Marshall Ellis will give us a look at Empires in Arms, licensed and developed from the award-winning classic Napoleonic strategy game of the same title. Paul Vebber will be previewing Combat Leader and Erik Rutins will show and discuss the upcoming Battlefields! operational wargame. Also on hand from the Matrix Games staff to discuss any and all of our projects and answer your questions will be David Heath, Marc Schwanebeck and Shaun Wallace.

This is a full court press for us and we hope you will stop by if you are attending Origins 2004 or ask one of your friends who is to drop in and see what we have to show. There is no better place this year to meet us in person and see what Matrix Games is working on and what we have in store.

Gee I know that SSG does some spectacular All-Singing, All-Dancing kinds of software but I didn't know that they'd signed up Ronan Keating. Is he related to the original lead programmer - Roger Keating?

One day they will have the convention on the West Coast. San Francisco is a great venue.

Origins

Post by mogami »

Hi, I've been off line for a while. I went to Origins and Matrix et al treated me like Royalty. They bought me dinner (and a few beers). I hated to have to leave.

Thanks again.

I almost thought you had retired or was experiencing a severe case of burn out. I am basicly a forum lurker but I do like and look forward to your WITP/UV posts and insight.

Welcome back (I hope).
