Bombing Buna and Dobodura

Post by worr »

This is a bug. I've witnessed this in three PBEM games.

You can saturate bomb these two bases and pick up port and airfied damage via recon. I assume supplies are also being hit. But then after a saturation point, no damage to the port and airfield is being recorded or seen. The bases are enabled to rebuild even during heavy bombardment.

I've not witnessed this on other bases. But the bug might be out there too.

Anyone else?

I've found after running a test that unmanned bases will repair damage to the base, and quite quickly too, at that. So no point in bombing the snot out of, say, Madang harbour before the Japanese turn up to force those fat transports to linger around a little too long, 'cos the pier will magically right itself.
Where's the Any key?

This may happen against the AI but in PBEM bases do not repair at all like that. IT may also be faulty recon.

If Dobadura is a good size AF, planes may fly CAP from it even if the runways are 75% damaged.

As I said in the first post this is happening in PBEM games.

My opponents also say it is a bug.
