Joystick Drift

Post by SlapBone »

I have a Saitek Cyborg USB Gold and I cannot get it to stop the rudder from drifting to the left. I have moved the rudder control over to the "roll" function and this keeps it from being as annoying but it is still there.

I have recalibrated my joystick about a dozen times and I just can't seem to compensate for it. I do miss the old analog calibrations (like in CH Flightsticks) but sadly those days are gone.

In other games (that I won't mention due to the controversial people that make them) I have seen where programmers will have sort of a calibration override function that will re-center the joystick within the game. Is this a possible solution or does anyone have any ideas how I can correct it some other way (some way that will allow me to keep my rudder :) )?

Any help would be appreciated.

If it is just a slight drift, you can increase the dead zone on the joystick. Just open up the key.cfg file using Notepad and increase the number for the joystick dead zone.

Thanks Milo, I will try this. The drift is rather slow, but still a PITA.

I have a Saitek too and whenever that happens all I have to do is move the stick through it's full range of motion for it to find the correct center point.
