Shuttle landings and event activations

Ok, so here's the deal:

Shuttle launches, travels waypoints from my carrier to station, requests docking, and is denied.
Does not matter if station is mine or neutral.

I need that docking to activate squadrons on the carrier.

Seems that squads assigned to a carrier can't be targeted by the event that modifies hold.
Tried starting fighter group off of carrier to activate and dock after, however they are also denied docking.

The station has to have a squadron of the same type of craft and that isn't full in order for there to be room for the shuttle to dock.

Now that sure makes sense. I'll give it a try.

didn't work. added squad of same type to station, then had them outside. still no landing.

The squadron has to have open slots in order for a ship to land there. I forget the exact method, but I think you have to go into the mission file and add "dead_count: x," to the squadron element, where x is the number of slots available for ships of that type.

That's the ticket. Takes my shuttle, but I can have one in base triggered to replace it.
