Mission Making Tips

Post by TheDeadlyShoe »

If you want a ship to proceed to a location and not divert course to engage, use the "Recon" action.

The best way (IMHO) to get capital ships to go through farcasters properly is to set them up so they are moving through it, with a waypoint just before the farcaster with the Hold 1:00 command.

Ships that quantum to a sector or fighters that move from a planetary sector won't come in at the same point every time due to varying mission times. I believe you can specify the mission start-time but I'm not positive.

RELATED BUG:

If a ship starts quantuming to a sector just before it farcasts to that sector, it will still quantum to that sector.

mission time can be set. User has to edit the mission.def file manually.

TIPs:
-Start small.
-Use graph paper and notebook paper to story board the mission. the more prep work you do the easier it will be.
-For anything more than Me VS You triggers are your friend.
-learn the comman dlin e options for Ss. such as -quick , -filesys, -nosplash, etc.
blaa.
