Missing file when starting SP downloaded from mirror site

Ive downloaded SP from a mirror site and am getting d3d9.dll not found when I click the play icon. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you confirmed it is not a missing system file yet?

That file doesn't exist in a functioning Steel Panthers game folder.

It's located in Windows.

Sounds like a missing directX file. You have Dx9 installed?

As per the system specs that the installer shows you when you try to install SPWAW it needs DirectX 9. Download and sinatll from the official MS site here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx
