Just tried the game but the text is messed up in game.

i don't know how to make a direct link to it since any link goes straight to the main forum page, but go to page 2 in this forum and there's a guy who had the same problem (text problems) 2/3 of the way down.

Download dosbox and one of the windows front end loaders. Your problem is lack of ega font support in bios on your motherboard. Dosbox corrects this and many other problems when playing old dos games. Warning, it is not simple to use, read the docs.

I am running DOSbox ver. 0.60 and it works well, once you have learnt how to set up the game to run in DOSbox. You can also download a DOSbox windows friendly 'frontend' (I have ver. 0.45), but the readme is limited and it took me some time to work out how to use it. There are newer versions of DOSbox and windows frontend, but as the versions I have are working OK I have left them alone.

I have windows xp and a new laptop but the combat data no longer shows. Instead there is xxx everywhere.
Is there anything I can do so that I can still play the game?
