WITP editor

Post by m10bob »

Hey guys!....The SPWAW editor allows a user to change *anything* for solo games..I have tried this with WITP and it is not working for me..I tried to change the name of the Zero 32 to "Hamp",and lower it's manueverability rating, but it would not "save"(in scenario 16 slot),but it did "save" in a slot called WITP UP(whatever that means)..I then looked at the plane database in game(#16),but the change is not there..
Indeed,is there a way to change the attributes which will affect every scenerio,(as the SPWAW editor will allow??)[&:]

You can't edit existing official scenarios, just copy and save in higher slot.

Plus, any changes will only apply to NEW games. This is because the scenario data gets embedded in the save game file. Or, another way of looking at it - the save game file is a copy of the scenario file which can only be edited by executing turns on it.

Thank you Captain Cruft...Certainly not as user friendly,(nor as needed) as the editor in SPWAW by a LONG SHOT!!!!!.That editor allows one to change ANY individuals unit features completely,(while preventing "cheating") as it would give an incompatibility warning..The SPWAW editor allows historical research and corrections,(in lieu of changes being limited to individual scenarios)....Wonder what prompted this *step back*,(unless the designer of this editor was not the same as that on SPWAW??)[:(]
