Alpha Scen testers wanted (and questions!)

Post by chiphart »

Howdy!

I have a scen that is nearly complete and I'm looking for some reasonable alpha-testers (I'll
release the beta). It's no work of art, but I
think it's safe to say that it's...different from what you normally see. I'm delighted to send a copy of the scen to the first five people who reply to <tt>chip@pcc.com</tt>; after that, I hope to incorporate any sensical suggestions.

To give you an idea of the <it>lack</it> of historical realism I hoped to achieve, the name of this scen is...Godzilla Island!

In the meantime, I have two problems I cannot seem to fix:
<ul> [*]I've loaded up some Douglas' to drop all kinds of people in during certain rounds. However, they still appear as units when it's my turn. That is, as I go n/n/n through my units, they appear - though not on the map, nor can I do anything with them. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
[*]For the life of me, I can't get certain victory hexes to stick. The hexes are pretty important in this scen and it's as if only some of them will stay - I've checked to ensure that these aren't "appearing" hexes. I've saved and re-saved the map AND the scen. Any ideas here?
[/list]
Either way, thanks!

This is normal. When units are set as reinforcments they do appear on the unit list. This is similar to off map artillery that you can n/n/n through but they aren't on the map and you can do anything with them (other than call fire with the B key).
Never take counsel of your fears.

Boy, I could have sworn that paratroopers in other scens didn't appear - but thanks for letting me know I'm not missing something.

If you mean the custom vic hexes don't stay where you put them, try adding a river, even a short 3 hex long one on the map. I recall that trick from back around v2 or so.
thanks, John.

Two comments about that suggestion:
<ul>[*]There is a substantial river through the scen already - I presume that should be it?
[*]The map is self-generated, so I don't know what you mean by "custom" VHs. They're all custom!

Thanks, either way! I appreciate the help.
