error! Plz help!

Post by Captain Scarlet »

Hi guys,

am back under another name to the matrix forums, for some help and advice! [:)]

Just dl Campaigns on the Danube, and when I try to load the game, I get as far, as trying to load a scenario, then I get this:

Access violation at address 005231CE in module @CampaignsontheDanubeexe@ read address 00F9CDB5.

What ever that means! [&:]

I have read some of your posts, and yes I do have norton, and no I don't really want to uninstal it! but I have disabled when trying to boot up the game and when I dl the game,
and given matrix the OK for access.

Please help! [&o]

I need to ask because you did not mention it, did you install the two patches?

Easy solution, install DirectX 9.0c with norton anti-virus disabled

Also, completly uninstall the game, resintall the game with norton anti-virus disabled, apply both patches with norton anti-virus disabled. Should work. This error is just directx directdraw than gets messed up because of norton when you install CotD. A Symantec classic.

And sorry to say but do yourself a big favor and get another anti-virus when your licence expires. www.nod32.com , it's a standard for a gazillion corporates users like sophos, but only alot cheaper and also alot cheaper than Norton Anti-Virus. Also another fact: All virus signatures are either published by Sophos or Nod32, both have their team of geeks, hackers and crackers to tear down viruses....Norton, McAfee, etc... just licenses their services because maintaining a team like that costs a bundle and you need corporate users to support that......Norton has very few corporate users because any IT guy with an ounce of competency will tell you Norton = Problems.
