am I understanding this correctly?

Post by BossGnome »

alright, so am I understanding correctly what is said in the manual? Ok, lets say I send a bunch of VALs to fly a naval attack mission, and I put the CAP level at 60%. Does that mean that 40% of the VALs will do the naval attack and 60% will stay on CAP protecting my carriers? Or, does it mean that 60% of the VALs will fly the mission, and the other 40% will do nothing.

If the truth is the second case, then how do I protect my carriers with a fighter screen? Escort??

you can't put dive bombers on CAP missions :)

but the CAP % is the % that will stay and protect the base/TF

so if you have a squadron of zeros and put their mission as Escort, and then CAP at 40% that means 40% will stay behind to fly CAP and the rest are available to Escort your Val's

Hey Carnifex,

Is that a little screen shot form what I think was Grat naval Battles III Fury in the Pacific? That is what you saw when you zoomed all the way in on a Surface battle.

Negative on that one. That little battleship graphic is a Bismarck-class sprite from Hearts of Iron. It's a custom-one, though, provided by the many HOI modders; however, it's used far and wide as a sprite replacement for the original.
