how does the ai know?

i was playing double drop camp. and i was wondering how does the ai know to attack u where ure weakest at. i had just moved the glider boys to vegal to rest for a few hours and i didnt see any thing except for a few attacks around best in the for a div hq with 800 people but as soon as i move the glider boys to attack the the hveay road bridge next to city of uden they go about 3 klicks out i am attacked by like a regiment of fallashimjager (sry about babd spelling). but i was just wondering how could the ai know i was doing this because i didn't see any recon goin on and i was on the high ground so i dont know. and i was wondering if some one could explain this to me.

I am not sure of the details of the AI's planning.

Of course, there is always the chance that a stroke of pure genius by the AI (or a human) just was a lucky break at the right time and place.

Do keep in mind that the game implements differential siting. Meaning that if the enemy is dug in in good cover and you are on the move on an exposed road or ridge line, they can see you even if you cannot see them. A good indication of this are arty/mortar barrages falling all over you even though you have no current contact with the enemy.

As long as the AI doesn't cheat by using its internal knowglede of the battlefield to make it more difficult. I hate that with games. Some games are so obvious on that. Fair game, fair fight!

There's no cheating by the AI. So I suspect one of two things occured here.

1. Your forces were spotted by the enemy even though you can't see them.

2. The enemy was in fact targeting some other objective and your forces per chance were in the way.
