FINALLY

Post by marky »

well

it finally happened[:D]

my brand new super computer came to life on august 2nd 2004 at about 8 pm

[:D]

i know i couldve announced this big news a week ago, but i wanted to wait until i got a connection to the internet, which i just did now lol

and of course, the first game i installed?

Uncommon Valor

then i brought up the menu and pressed play....

nothing happened, and i was about to give up...

but then, uv CAME TO LIFE[:D]

i was shocked

and of course that gives an answer to whether or not it was a dud disk eh?

anyway, the stats for my new computer are, as far as i know =

Thermaltake xaser III case
Amd athlon 3400 processor
Asus k8v se deluxe motherboard
1 gb ram memory
Ati radeon 9800 video card
Sound blaster audigy 2 limited edition
250 gb ide hard drive
dual cd-dvd, rw-cd drives
3.5 floppy drive
viewsonic (19) inch monitor
altec lansing 3 piece speaker system
Logitech optical mouse
Logitech keyboard
convertx video-dvd converter

Approx cost - 2400.00 $

as far as i know, all or most of these parts came from newegg.com

my brother in law and i custom built it from scratch

i myself put in the video and i believe sound cards and installed the drives

i cant remember if i did anything else tho [:'(]

it was fun, and interesting to see it come together, but sum of it wasnt so fun, as, at the time i had just had my wisdom teeth taken out[X(]

so, it was great, as long as my painkillers were working......

[:'(]

and i of course tried uv and had sum decent success with the coral sea scenario, sinking several japanese mine sweepers and severely wounding the shokaku and shoho [:D]

im still trying to figure it out, but it should be interesting[:D]

marky,

Congratulations on your new PC and on playing UV. Hope you enjoy UV as much as I have. Having wisdom teeth pulled is no fun, but its worse when they become impacted.

And there was much rejoicing!

Great job Marky.

I've been following your PC travails without any knowledge to help you correct them. Your persistence is especially impressive; I think other people would have given up and moved on to a different game.

Now let the fun begin.
