could somebody explain the shield factor and type clearly I"ve got it working, but I dont know what those 2 do at all

Shield factor is what damage is multiplied by before being applied to the hull when the shield is at full strength.

And the 'type' iirc is basically civilian vs military. I'm not sure what that actually means as far as the game goes, but I might be entirely wrong anyways.

Are you sure about the type paramater. I thought it meant if the shield could block missle weapons or just energy ones.
