From High Altitude Bombing on the main forum:
ORIGINAL: Joel Billings

Gary confirmed that there is a bug with high altitude bombers (probably at 32768 as posted earlier, thanks for that note). He has sent a fix to Mike so hopefully it will be fixed in the next patch. Until then, keep your altitudes below 30k and you should be fine.

seems like the B-29 force was capable to destroy the entire Rengo Kantai...
I hope this is a bug

I count 545 bomb hits on ships and 31 on other targets. Somebody check my arithmetic.

What game date did this occur on, and from where did the attack originate?

40 bomber per B-29x 61 bombers = 2,440 bombs. that is only a 22.3% hit rate.

It seems to be a bit high on the ships but carriers were called bomb catchers :)

Uh, guys? Read my earlier post in this thread. It's a bug; bombers over 30,000 feet.

It's actually a signed vs unsigned integer problem ... greater then 32767 actually is a negative number instead of a positive so you are attacking from below ground level thereby getting *very* good results [:D]

Keep them under 32768 feet until the patch comes out to fix this one.

Isnt it written somewhere that level bombers can only have 1 bomb hit each?

or did I dream this up?

Ok its a bug but a very funny one[8D]

Haruna and the other big ships completely lost their weapons, except the main guns on the Battleships which are too heavy armored.

Funny![:D]

Effective immediately, all B-29s in this group will insure that their altitude on their final bomb run is > 2**15 (32678) feet. That is all.

Wondering if this has been patched in v1.3 or v1.4. Probably yes.

The funny part if that another Gisby game, Bombing the Reich has exactly the same feature. Bombers flying over 32768 feet were 100% accurate and usually destroyed most of the AA guns defending the target.

In both games, AA fire was using the real altitude contrary to the bombers so losses were nil.

Hi, You'd think if those B-29 are being gophers that at least the mines in the hex would knock out a few. [X(]

This B-29s are flying submarines with 40 bombs jumping out of the water around Japanese ships. Yes, mines should strike some of them (or rather the other way) as they stop Allied submarines.
