General questions.

Well, I've been playing SS since the original demo was released a looong time ago. There've always been a couple questions I've needed answered, but never asked.

How do you remove/turn off the diamond with the name on your ship? That's really annoying when you want to take a screenshot.

Is there a rotatable view that makes the HUD go away?

From time to time, my ship's AI (IE, auto-firing, defensive firing) will stop working. This requires reinstallation of the game. Not a big deal, really, but anyone know why it happens?

About the first question, can you be more specific? And about the second one, you can see the ship from an external view and rotate it by clicking and holding the right mouse button. If you want to remove the hud, just press H (I think).
