Bug? Switching to autopilot during battles

Hi,

This has happened to me enough times that it's either a feature, or a bug. I'm in a fight, and my fighter switches to autopilot for seemingly no reason. It's pretty hard to hit Shift-N by mistake, so that's not it.

It doesn't happen a lot. I've had it happen several times during 1 battle, and I've played hours without it happening. But it always happens when guns are going off.

I am getting good at hitting Shift-N now to get out of it, now that I know what's happening, but it was pretty annoying at first.

Do you fly with the mouse? I do and i accidentally switch to autonav or drop decoys all the time in combat.
[EDIT:] The mouse causes this cause in any mode you can click on the nav and decoy sections of the HUD and they activate even if you're flying with the mouse and shooting your guns.

Pheonix Starflare, yes I do fly with the mouse. Your explanation makes a lot of sense. That's probably what's happening, although I've never noticed decoys going off, probably because I die too quick, heheh. I'll have to watch for that.

Still, if what you say is true, that seems like a bug. You have the 2 modes, virtual joystick and pointer, and the pointer mode is expressly for clicking on stuff. So, er, the clicking on stuff part is already sorted, right? We don't need it in the piloting/shooting bit.
