Official and final Release date ?

Post by kermittkiller »

Hi all,

I'm new to this Forum and I'd never heard about Matrix Games before yesterday.

But I'd love to go back to the (not so far away) time where I played war games and Empires In Arms is probably my favourite after World In Flames. PC war-game is maybe just what I need as it will allow me to play with far away friends.

I suddenly seem unable to wait for it to happen ;) ;) ;).

To the point: I've been scourging the internet yesterday trying to find the release date for this game to no avail.

Can anybody enlighten me or direct me to an official post mentioning it?

Thanks!

Also relatively new here (and they have a WiF forum too) but there is a "don't ask for release dates" policy that I have seen mentioned in several places. I guess if you pressure the devs too much they go hide in a corner or they get distracted and start working on a project other than the one you want them on. Of course since EiA is the best game EVER we want them working on it ^_^ So I guess "soon" is the best answer you can expect (to be completely honest I heard about this project 2 years ago and it is still being worked on but they have some GREAT screen shots) :)

The matrix only has one official realeasedat that I know of: All games are released when done.

However you should read my reply in this thread:

Oh, ok.

Thanks for the info.
I'll take it we're looking at a up to three months schedule then.

I did find it weird that sites like amazon already "sell" the game but are "out of stock" ;) ;) ;)...

The amazon story is onother funny story... [;)]

matrix has made a promise that anybody buying from amazon will never get their game (or something like that) since MG does not use Amazon as a distributor...

But funny it is... [:D]

Hey guys:

We're not hiding NOR are we working on anything else BUT we do not have calendars on our PCs so it is impossible to have a deadline or predict a release date [:)]

We understand guys! We really do BUT we hate missing dates. It doesn't affect us as much as it does you guys! Throwing a date out there, only raises your expectations. It does not affect how hard we work on the game so we mostly just tick you guys off when we do release dates. You guys can all look at these forums and see that we are terribly close so just hang in there...

Thank you
Thank you

People, we have the programmer himself arround here to talk to us, to show us progress, the options, OOB and all sorts of good and usefull things. Why in such environment, everybody just keeps asking about the release date? Would you be more happy if they, instead of having open discussion about the game in progress, put up a web page with big bold release date posted, without updates and the possibility to influence the development process?

I'm sounding to strong perhaps but that is because EiA is not an easy game release. It has seven nations to do the AI for. And this AI should be GOOD because even with the PBEM option it will be difficult to find seven human opponents with same daily schedule. Plus it has to be able to conduct BASIC diplomacy!

EiA is so good that any period devoted to development will be worth it later if all things in the finall release are done just right.

This is the best answer I have seen. The fact that the game is coming is good enough for me. I want it done right, not fast.

Keep up the good work.

Eby Games also told me that they had the game but were just out of stock. You really have to be careful with some salespeople at these game shops. Because they really don't know what they are talking about.[:-]

Maybe they are referring to the old AH computer game that was released a decade or more ago [X(] and sucked and was unplayable and...

Not to mention, there are a lot of 'shady' salespeople out there.... ahem, liars.
