Hey guys:

Had to share our latest status report. This box design hopefully should give you an idea of how close we are getting. I realize it doesn't mean that we're magically done BUT I think you guys get the picture...

Enjoy...
Thank you

Yeah. Orgy porgy.
Put my faith in the people
And the people let me down.
So, I turned the other way,
And I carry on anyhow.

I honestly don't see how the designers could be near finished when they're still taking ideas on how much control you'll have over the AIs. The discussion just started this month a few posts down. Unless they plan to release the game with an incomplete AI? *shudder*

Understand your concern!

We live by a couple of rules:

First rule of design ... never stop taking ideas!
Second rule of design ... never stop designing!
Third rule of design ... cannot implement all good ideas!
Fourth rule of design ... all ideas are good ones!
Fifth rule of design ... repeat above steps!

Our development strategy is to constantly refine our design. This will continue past release 1. Yes, this will create patches and updates but let us all thank God that we have the technology to get pathces and updates. Unlike a car (where must must RE-purchase the next year's model to get the improvements), we will strive to better the product that you bought so that as a year or two passes, your product will be better than the one you bought!

Shudder NOT, my friend because I'm sure you'll have as much fun as I am right now (Diplomacy phase March 1807, me as France)!

Thank you

Marshall,

You are not going to make many friends around here if you keep telling us how much fun you are having with the game while we are stuck waiting for it. [:D][:D][:D]

As of right now, if I ever get you in a PBEM game, I am going to have everyone try to gang up on you and crush you!!!!!!! [:D][:D][:D]

Count me in! But with all the practice and inside information he will be unstopable [:D]
Unless, he plays Russia and learns from the AI [:D][:D]

Thank you Marshall; sounds good. A few bugs and perhaps a few gameplay loopholes are to be expected, but the EiA "design" should be sound. In the long run, the challenge will be to continually improve the AI so that it is worth playing over and over again, either for solo games or as a MP partner/opponent.

Hello. This is very exciting. I first started playing Empires in Arms in 1988 and had difficulty getting 7 people together to play. Now after years of waiting, and following the forums, the wait is nearly over.
