I had one where the weather turned bad in the Hawaiian Islands on 12/7/41 and only 6 zeros made an attack at all...,

Thats actually a problem Mike, the weather is hard coded for the first turn because of the obvious implications. Remember the options you were running with?

Sorry Frag, I don't have a clue. It was one of my first few starts and I was sort of trying
the variables at random to see what the differences might be. Obviously it was pretty
variable---but I remember thinking at the time it WAS realistic. The Japanese had their
whole war plan triggered to go at that time (including the Declaration that was delivered
late), and if the weather had turned out lousy in Hawaii that day they WERE hosed.

Understood Mike ... thats why they coded the weather to be the way it is on turn 1. Obviously had it not been good, PH would have been a really silly place to be on Dec 7th.

I seem to get better results however I changed the starting PH attack with one of my own.

In my new AAR (had to restart. Dont like how the AI handles subs.) I reset the KB to following

All Zeros to 10,000 feet (Want to preserve them to defend the KB)

Vals were set to 5,000 feet but they actually went lower than that. Also distributed them as follows

Akagi/kaga groups attack naval
Hiryu/Soryu attack Port
Zuikaku/Shokaku attack Airfeilds

And for the kates I set them all to 1000 feet. Some went lower to drop torpedoes.

Oddy when I reset the attack Nagumo lauches TWO attacks on Dec 7th. The second attack does so well Nagumo doesnt have to stay around for another day.

the results edited for brevity...
