4/25/1943

Rangoon seems to have now 2 IJA divisions instead of one. That makes amphibious invasion there impossible.
Suichuan is now size 4 airfiels, all set for future strategic bombing.
Halsey is sent to raid Truk.
Surprise air attack against PM from Rabaul, not good since PM is staging area for not-so-good air units.

IJN CV TF is hit near Wewak. This time their CAP fails miserably, 2 CVs are hit with *** and **, CVL is again scratched. Good turn for Allied.

5/2/43

CV Wasp and Hornet upgrade to F6F in SF.
Garrisoning Kiska with US troops is on the way.
Halsey is sent to raid Eniwetok I.

5/9/1943

Indian Ocean plans are revised for invasion of Medan. 14th Army starts series of assaults in Mandalay.

Halsey is sent to Truk again...not much happening, but his TF destroys Japanese LBA. F6F is proving it's worth.
In Mandalay, land attacks are renewed.

To use a hilarious80's heavy rock band KISS song name bit modified, it's time for "Let's put the X in Essex".
CV Essex arrives and CentPac offensive will start.
3 CV TFs is now formed under command of Adm Mitcher.
Old battlewagons are formed to Surface Combat TF under command of Adm Lee.

5/30/1943

Argh !! Prince of Wales is withdrawn. That's like losing a key player just before playoffs. CL Kenya hardly compensates the loss.
Operation "Backstab", invasion of Medan, starts.

6/6/1943

CentPac TFs start to hammer Wake I.
Halsey hits Truk.
Heavy air resistance from Singapore against Medan invasion...and IJA is not impressed by British invasion performance...desperate reinforcement effort starts.

6/13/1943

SEAC will have to empty Andaman I. in favour of Medan.
More raids against Truk and Wake.
Engineers are sent to Attu.
Halsey catches IJN TF near Truk, but with quite poor results, 1 AP and 1 MCS is sunk.
Air war is 254-145 for Allied.
CV Essex is hit by 2 250 kg bombs, delivered by unescorted G4Ms, but fortunately damage is only 7..Mitcher retreats to Midway anyway.

2 CVLs and 2 CVEs available in SF.
More troops sent to Medan with supplies.
Halsey is sent to raid Truk again.
Air war 179-76 for Allied.

6/27/1943

Massive surface and air raids are made against Wake.
Halsey sent to Truk...sinking 1 Ap and 3 MCS.
Air losses 246-131 for Allied.

7/4/1943

14th Army attacks Rangoon.
Mitcher's CV Tf is reinforced with CVL Independence, his TF now has impressive 4594 flak value.

7/11/1943

Lots of aircrafts are destroyed on ground in Wake by air and surface bombardments.

7/18/1943

Battle of Medan intensifies.
P-47D starts to arrive to pool in numbers.
CV B.H.Richard arrives.
SACPAC notices that he has forgoten gung-ho 1st Mar Div to Fiji...time for them to see some action.
IJN tanker losses should start to hurt their economy soon.

Medan is captured !!!

7/25/1943

Next target for SEAC forces will be either Jitra or Kuala Lumpur...with final objective to capture Palembang.
1st Mar Div and 503rd Para Rgt will spearhead attack to Admiralty I.
Allied will take Wake, Eniwetok, Ponape, Truk, Emirau I, and Admiralty I., cutting Rabaul, Tarawa etc. off...SoPac will mop them up later.

Attu enlargens it's airfield and air units from Dutch Harbour are deployed there.
NZ Wing gets brand new P-47Ds.

8/8/1943

Attack against Admiralty I. starts.
CV Cabot arrives and 3rd US CV TF starts to form...all spare CV/CVLs are sent to Midway.
Japanese carrier air units are decimated in air battles near Sarmi...one IJN CV gets ** hit, CVL gets * hit in hands of Allied LBA.
Air losses 456-224 for Allied.
Admiralty I. is captured !!!

8/15/1943

Invasion of Wake will start soon.
Adm Spruance takes command of 3rd US CV TF.
Halsey raids Truk as usual.
IJN CVs stay and fight near Sarmi, losing lot of planes...one IJN CV gets * hit, 1 CVL is sunk.
British CV Victorious is hit by air-delivered torpedo near Medan...but not badly.

8/22/1943

One British CV is withdrawn...damn.
Medan airfield is enlarged and gets ari units.
Land attacks continue in Rangoon.
3rd Mar Div lands on Wake.
3 divisions land on Kolombangara.
Halsey raids Saipan...sinking 2 CAs, 7 DDs and 4 CDs...and in addition, hits also Guam, adding CL, DE, 5 APs to tally.
Darn Wake is too tough nut for 3rd Mar Div, they are evacuated...Kolombangara doesn't fall either.
Bad week, except Halsey's effort.

8/29/1943

Invasion of Kuala Lumpur starts...and it's immediately captured !!!

Halsey is sent to Saipan again...and first carrier vs. carrier battle is initiated !!!
Kido Butai gets in surprise attack against Halsey...frantic strikes and counterstrikes follow each other !!!
IJN CVL is sunk !! 2 IJN CVs are badly damaged !!!
CV Yorktown is hit badly, damage is 77...CV Enterprise is hit after battle by Japanese G4M's torpedoes, damage is 90 !!
Both will be sent to Brisbane or Sydney for repairs..that is if they float that far...

9/12/1943

Charlie Fox !!...as in cluster f*ck !!
SACPACs plans need to be revised due to fact that CV Enterprise is hit again by LBA..and is promptly sunk !!
CV Saratoga gets also light damage...

9/19/1943

Kolombangara is finally captured !!!
Jitra, Singapore and Kuantan are attacked by British troops marching from Kuala Lumpur !!
Shortland is invaded !!
Wake is assaulted again, this time with full power of USMC...2nd and 3rd Mar Div reinforced with USMC Def Batt lands on Wake, supported by 2 CV TFs and 3 Surface Combat Tfs !!
Wake is captured and enemy is wiped out !!!
Shortland, Jitra nad Kuantan are captured !!!
Palembang is hit by British Cvs and BBs.

9/26/1943

CV Bunker Hill and CVL Monterey are sent to Guadalcanal to bring Halsey's TF back to full strength.
Bougainville is invaded and captured !!!
Singapore is captured !!!!
Khota Baru is captured !!!

10/3/1943

BB bombardment on Palembang damages oil industry.
British CV raid on Kuching brings another carrier battle !!! Brits sink IJN CV that has been damaged previously !!!
Rangoon is finally captured !!!
Gen Swift is killed by own air support in Kolombangara...Gen H.M.Smith takes command there.

10/10/1943

Singora is invaded by SEAC land forces.
SEAC HQ moves to Singapore, 14th Army HQ to Rangoon.
Merrill's regoment and Chinese reinforcements will try to invade either Cantoon or Zhanjiang in future.
British CVs raid Saigon port.

Halsey's TF is reformed as 3 CV, 1 CVL. CV Yorktown is sent to Sydney for accelerated repairs.
Halsey is sent to raid Truk again.
Invasion of Eniwetok I. starts..and it's captured, Japanese troops are eliminated !!!
CVL Langley is sent to Guadalcanal to be added to Halsey's force.
British CVs and BBs hit Saigon.
Japanese bombard Khota Baru !! Their TF loses only one DD to LBA, but 2 BBs and 2 CAs are hit, not badly, though.

Battle of Singora starts.
British CVs are sent to raid Hainan, trying to catch IJN TFs headight there.
British BBs hit Palembang.
Softening of Kwajalein I. starts.
Canton is invaded by Merrill's Rgt and Chinese units.
Torpedo bombers suck badly..they cannot hit even lightly escorted convoys...even when 80+exp.
Japan makes carrier strike against Singapore !! IJN plane losses are huge...
IJN operations near Singora/Khota Baru are disturbing...
Air losses 765-296 for Allied.

10/31/1943

Invasion of Kwajalein starts, and after very tough atoll combat it's captured !!! Japanese units are eliminated.
British torpedo bombers suck again against IJN TFs..as usual...1 hit in 8 attacks this far...
Now Japan has land advantage in Singora, thanks to useless British Beaufighter X pilots...

11/7/1943

Breaktrough in Rangoon is attempted again.
Singora is attacked by Brit CVs and BBs.
Prince of Wales is back in Eastern Fleet !!
BB Iowa and BB New Jersey arrive to SF...very nice indeed.
Softening of Ponape is started.
LBA in Malaya area is useless again against IJN...multiple attacks, one scratched CA...thankfully IJN bombards empty Khota Baru.
Well, not totally useless..they finally sink a CLAA !!

11/14/1943

Plans are made to invade Emirau I. and Ponape.
Halsey now has 3 CVs and 2 CVLs in his TF..back in strength.
CV Yorktown in in Sydney, damage now down to 62.
Ki-45 Toryus are nuisance in SEAC area.
IJN carriers hit Singapore..losing 76 planes vs. 10...Adm Rawlings strikes them with his CV TF, damaging one CVL heavily, **** hit.
Both sides disengage, and LBA cannot hit the IJN..again..

11/21/1943

Ponape is invaded, and promptly captured !!!
Emirau I is invaded too..and captured !!!
First B-29 group arrives to SF.
Another carrier battle between Singapore, Miri and Saigon...CV Victorious is lightly damaged, IJN CVL gets ** hit.

11/28/1943

Gen Geiger takes command of Ponape. Truk is hit heavily by multiple US TFs.
Ki-45 Toryus consistently beat highly experienced F4U-1s in air combat over Rangoon, go figure...
First surface combat action in war near Singora, nighttime !!!
BC Renown is badly hit by torpedo, 4 IJN CAs badly damaged, 2 IJN DDs are sunk.
British CV TF sinks IJN CL in aftermath, but another pathetic show from Brit torpedo bombers...

Bangkok is invaded by SEAC land units from Jitra.
Truk is hit again with large US naval force.
British LBA sinks a whole 1 DD near Malaya peninsula...
Gen Geiger is killed by own air support in Ponape...
Japanese are finally eliminated at Kolombangara.

Japanese are wiped out in Ponape.

12/19/1943

Buka I. is invaded and captured !!!
Preparations are started to invade Truk, that'll be the final phase of Operation "Stranglehold".
Combined Fleet HQ is reported to be in Miri, preparing operations against Khota Baru...well, they are welcomed to try.

12/26/1943

Heavy raids against Truk again.
Air losses 454-246 for Allied.

1/2/1944

Attempts to break resistance in Rangoon and Bangkok continue.
CV Yorktown is now repaired to 38 damage...Australians seem to weld quite fast...
Invasion of Truk starts, Marines capture the island !!!
Green I. is captured too !!!
