Midway

Post by mogami »

Hi, would anyone play a PBEM game that used the May 1942 start date but ended on 1 Aug 1942.

Victory conditions would be

1. You must control Midway to win.
2. You must score at least 2 to 1 VP to win.

The entire map and forces would be used because the Midway Operation does not occur in a vacum and points scored anywhere would count towards total.

Hmmm... I asked very similar question few months before WitP was released but most people said that it would be very one sided battle and that Japanese would have to make crazy mistakes (similar to those they historically did) to loose... [;)]

I would play. I would also play a limited map scenario focusing on just a 3-4 week period surrounding the invasion.

Hi, There would have to be a bit of editing and players would have to trust each other or use a third party to do the editing.

Examples of what would be required as the Japanese would be allowed to set the objective and readiness for a certain amount of troops (It takes longer then 90 to ready troops for amph assault)

Relocate units. Now that I think of it. Most every scenario could be made very interesting if both players submitted plans for their starting deployments and a third party made the changes and sent them back. (You have to trust the other player not to peek)
