Steel Panthers 3 Revised!

Post by Alby »

Hello fellow warriors!
Dont know how many out there still play sp3, but, i know theres some cause I have email games going with em!
Anyway, Using alot of Warhorses and Andy Gaileys icons, Converting alot of sounds from SPWAW, And a rework of the Kobs, ALL PAINSTAKING! LOL!
I think I have come up with A Much improved SP3
THIS APPLIES ONLY FOR THE WW2 YEARS 39-45(except for Modern cammo Icons)
basically the majors, USA,UK Germany,USSR, Finland,Canada, some USMC,Some french. Japan may come next :-)
Anyway, drop me an email an Ill see what I can do as I have no Web site, youll need all the sound files, shps and Kobs so it may take some time, Around 5 Megs.
anyway, there it is for what its worth if anyone wants a look.

<img src="smile.gif" border="0"> GOOD NEWS! Jan 6 <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

A friend from the Netherlands has posted the necessary files on a download page.
You will need Sound.zip Icons.zip and LatestKobs.zip
Also the read me file is there as well.

to bad,sp3 did not run anymore on my new system...and besides i would missing "some" of the SPWAW features in the game.

but, the modern times sp3 was cool...large scale map and more units as one icon, too.

yeaahh...a modern sp3 running on windows with all the cool news from SPWAW would be nice....

missing the t80 and leopards somwwhat.
and the helis.

Alby,

Funny you should send this in. I spent a number of hours this week looking for SP2 and SP3 files online (most are gone now). I am very interested in your SP3 files as well as any SP2 files (especially the modern camo files) I have not been able to find them anywhere!!!! Please reply to this note. My address is usmc0202@hotmail.com or david.a.davenport1@jsc.nasa.gov Let me know what you have - I probably would love to have them all!!!

LIST of some of the changes

BACK UP YOUR ORIGINALS!!! in case you want to switch back to original.

Latest Upgrades>
NOTE*The Maultier Icon will replace the Lars launcher in Modern West germany so be advised.
But now the Icon at least looks like the picture of the Lars!
Countries affected In upgrade>

Finland, nazi Germany,USA, Britian,Soviet Union,Canada some french, some USMC, Japan to come later.
Alot of new formations, Weapons ect ect..
50 cal and 12.7 MGs now can destroy Light afvs,Trucks, apcs, as it should be!
AT guns are much more accurate than
before,historically correct!
All Infrantry AT weapons are Slightly more lethal!
Slight increase in all Arty Pricing as I feel arty is too lethal in SP3
UK, USA, Russia,Canada Armor now can stand up to German armor alot better, The germans still have the best toys, but its not so one sided as was before!
Using the Matrix games SPWAW sounds, much more enjoyable!
Icons from Andy Gailey and Mike Amos!
The Modern Cammo Files are also included in the shp files!
DISCLAIMER:

I find it very comforting that the Lars launcher is replaced. Very uncomfortable thing I tell you!

BTW: Are the files downloadable or are they only distributed by e-mail? I'd like to try them out.

Regards,

Lars

I have only email to you capability as I have no web site, Emailing it is slow but not too bad. (5megs)Not sure posting these files would be allowed anyway, as i have used others sounds, icons.
The Lars wasnt replaced, just the icon for it, I had to use that icon slot for the German Maultier.
But with your name I can see why youd be troubled!! HA HA!
Basically only changes apply to WW2.No modern work done yet except to install the modern cammo icons.(modern will be a daunting task!)
Drop me an email if your interested.

I still have a bunch of SP3 scenarios saved as well as 16 campaigns in SP3.

No campaigns in SP2 but a WHOLE lot of scenarios.
