Can I tell if my subs are correctly mining enemy waters? will those nice "dots" representing mines be revealed? Also I give my sub tf mine laying as a mission and load them at a large supplied port, but I do not see mines in he loadouts.. are they carrying them?

In order to reload mines your subs / minelayers must reload from a size 9 port or the port must have a minelayer tender(MLE) stationed there. You can convert some AK's to MLE's they take about 180 days to complete.

Any hex that has friendly mines will show the 'dot' on the map and list mines on the base screen..

do all subs show having mines in them? in other words if I am at a port 9 or 10, is there any way to know for sure the subs are loading mines? is there a supply amount needed?

you will see your torpedoes load decreased and a new load of "mines" depending on the sub, if your torpedoes load is NOT red (ie low on ammo), and you do not see a mine listed on the load, then you need to do what others have mentioned, find a level 9 port and get some MLE's there. (also remember MLE's for minelayers as well)

otherwise mines will not be listed. you can look in the OOB with the editor, and you will see that on line 9 of the subs weapons, is a mine load, but with no ammo. it's a tradeoff of torpedoes and mines. Subs usually have from 8-14x2 ammo of mines when loaded.

I believe it say adequate supplies are neede, and we are generally in agreement that means normally twice the supplies the base needs on a daily basis.

All though I suspect once over 20k that doesnt apply.

Yes dutch ML reload fine at size 9 ports in Australia, dont have any MLE so no idea if that is a problem or not.

Also the dutch minelaying subs reload fine in India.

Well you can turn Singapore into a size 9 port relatively fast as the allies. Last game against the ai it took me about a month (and I was at the same time expanding the fortification (which was a waste of time).

And yes, the dutch minelayers reload mines fine at size 9 Singapore.

Obviously to achieve any of this you need to at least delay the Japanese advance in Malaya, defend the Singapore base from air and naval attacks (engineers that repair damage do not build anything else) etc.

Marc aka Caran...

P.S.: I probably won't be able to do this in my PBEM game as Singapore has already taken a pounding and the non historic landings have already spead up the Japanese advance too much for my liking.
