Is it possible for us to burn a CD as a backup copy for ourselves? Or do we have to pay for the CD from Matrix? I've seen this question asked before, but never definatively answered.

after downloading, simply burn the exe file to a CD and write your serial number on it. Perfect backup system.

Of course you are not forced to download. Matrix will mail the CD if you request.

Yes, one private backup copy for personal uses is granted. You can, but don´t have to buy the CD.

One CD isn't a "back-up", it's an essential for a digital download. What are you going to do if you want to install on a new PC ?

When you save a file, Windows always defaults to the folder called “My Documents”

After a while I gave in and all personal files are saved there.

Under “My Documents” I have a series of folders, each folder devoted to a topic.

I will soon create a folder called “BIN” and that is where I will save the downloaded exe file.

Each week I do a back up and burn the files to CD. Of course I back up “My Documents” and all the folders and files underneath are backed up automatically

But I also back up all save game folders and for that matter I back up the Outlook Express settings.

My back up program allows me to set a “profile” which I named “weekly backup” where I include all these items.

Once a week, I open the profile and hit “burn” and the back up is done. Very simple.

I will not actually need a CD for BIN.

The product you Digitally Download comes zipped in the form of an installer. This you burn to disc and take to any PC of your choice. The serial number you receive activates it. The CD can be discarded thereafter as it isn't needed for play.

Maybe I was not clear enough, you are granted to make a personal backup copy of the installer file (that you download) to a CD, so you have a copy that not resides on your hardisk. If you purchase the "CD on demand" you´re also granted to make one backup copy of this CD for personal use.

Can you install a digital download on two pc's, provided that only one is in use at any given moment? I would really like to have a copy on my laptop for when I travel but my desktop is my primary gaming machine.

IMHO you should be allowed to install the game you have purchased into 2 PC, if you are the only people who is going to play the game.

the letter of the law of most licensed software/ songs etc is one machine, but the intent is to have one game played by one person, or if you share a computer whomever has access to that one computer say in a household....

Matrix isn't going to come after you with two computers you yourself use, at different times, they are more concerned about the guy who copies the game for a friend, which is bad[:-], or the guy who illigally sells a game very very bad..
"Tanks forward"
