The first one was bad enough to keep me away from anything like that again.

When Superpower was about to be released everyone was saying that it was going to put Civilization to rest. Then we all saw how darn buggy it was. A lot of people uninstalled it and never picked it up again even though they fixed a large number of the problems.

I'm hoping that this new one will be a 180' turn around from the previous release.

From all the hype I've read about S2 it's going to be a knock out of a game if the've fixed all the previous issues.

I've already pre-ordered it and I'll let you know if it's buggy.

Please let me know.

I was extremely put off by the bugs and lack of suppport. And training the AI never seemed to help the AI at all.[:@]

God, I cannot tell you how many hours my brothers and I spent rolling those little dice and looking at those cards (this was way back when). We had the play boards memorized. Don't know if we ever finished a complete season (APBA football took precedence) but we managed to always get the entire league to the All-Star game and usually up around 100 games each. That is a lot of dice rolling and stat keeping.[:)]

While I got into gaming because of wargames (in boardgames the only non-wargames I played regularly were from AH - Bowl Bound and Speed Cicuit for the most part), I now do tend to play other games. I think it is a version of ADHD...I can only handle any one game exclusively for about a month before I have to take a break and play something else.

My favorites, (non-wargames)

Neverwinter Nights
Civ3
Railroad Tycoon 2 ( I do play RT3, it didn't grab me as well as RT2, but it is gaining strength as new maps are released by fans).
Tropico (Tropico 2 is okay, but again doesn't grab me as well)
Morrowind
Knights of the Old Republic
Imperialism/Imperialism2
Cycling Manager 2
Links LS 1999 (with all my old Links courses).

If there were a decent college football game on PC (I almost bought NCAA 2004, but then found out that it does not have a coach only mode - I don't deal well with eye-hand coordination) like the old Microsports All-American College Football (DOS game that locks up in W98 mode), I would definitely grab it.

Lately my list of games have lately been quite short:
nethack ( sometimes, not even to trying to ascend... Just slashing around is just fine sometimes :)
M.U.L.E. ( not without beer and other player )
Allways having one online 3D shooter installed, currently Vietcong. Relaxing :)
Hellfighter ,if the game server would be up. Don't bother on my own. Because I loved Star control I&II.

If I'd have more time, I'd play MOO3, newest Championship manager etc. etc.

DOOM III. Unbelievable graphics and game play but not a relaxing game or good for panic attacks.

I like train simulators because the things they have done with the graphics in the past few years is astounding..There are sites where you can download(free) additional engines, routes, scenery, etc,so it's common for a fella to have a hundred engines in his collection.I have a lot of steam and early diesel as I "model" the late 40's,early 50's and have equipment from companies that went out of business years ago, like the Pennsylvania RR,B&O,Monon,Wabash,C&O,Milwaukee Road,New York Central,etc..
I also have routes and equipment from trains I rode while stationed in Europe..
I prefer the Microsoft Train Simulator,(which can still be had in places for about $14,you just have to look..
I can ride in the tail end passenger car of the "City of New Orleans, watch scenery go by(accurate),turn my head and see the bartender shmoosing other passengers over drinks, and hear Arlo Guthrie singing "The City of New Orleans",(which is the soundtrack which came with the FREE trainset!!!!)..
I probably have 15 routes,most were free.....[:D]

At the moment it's HTTR, IL2 FB and Ace expansion, and Doom3. Been playing around with a few demos lately, Warhammer 40k and Rome TW. My future games look to be Pacific Fighters, Rome Total War, and Conquest of the Aegean.
It is sincerity and faithfulness. It is self-sacrifice, duty, adherence to principle and unwavering loyalty to one's lord despite what the lord stands for, good or evil. It is an acceptance of one's place and status.

Shooter-stuff usually. Currently Joint Operations, Battlefield Vietnam and Red Orchestra (UT2004 mod). Am I really the only one who thinks Doom 3 is complete pants ? 2005 graphics... 1995 gameplay. Yrrrccchhh...

I dabble with most genres from time-to-time, except the C&C style RTS games, which I loathe.
