AAR Thebes Iñaki H. vs. Belphegor

A turn-based, simultaneous-play wargame with a classic 3D miniatures feel and a historical campaign.

My biggest gripe is the terrain imaging. It seems to totally distort and hide the figure images and I have a 19" screen.

I guess I'm not the only one finding this frustrating. [:(]

The graphics do nothing of the sort... I know Matrix are selecting some screenies and hopefully a definitive hi-res set will be put up. I can only say (as a tester) that Erik speaketh the truth. I just hope a demo is released so you can see for yourselves.

TS:A is such a fun game it would be a shame to see people missing out because of a non-existent problem.

I do not doubt that this is probably a fun game to play but graphics are just as important to me as game mechanics. Gamers are a discriminating lot, and what you may find acceptable may not be acceptable to me. I want to see for myself. Perhaps as an alternative to a demo maybe someone could post a full screen image in at least 1024x768 resolution. Hopefully that would give me a better idea of what you guys are talking about. Seems like a small thing to do to promote what is being labled as a fantastic game. If Matrix doesn't want to properly advertise this game, sales are going to be very minimal and they will interpret this as lack of interest and we can kiss any more ancient games goodbye. I have ceased to plunk down fifty dollars plus for a game that I have doubts about. I've been burned too many times. I already have lots of games sitting on my self collecting dust and reminding me that I wasted hundreds of dollars of my hard earned cash. My philosophy now is, if I play a demo and like the game or at least see graphics that truely present the game, I buy it.

It's not so much resolution as image quality, I think. I suspect a screenie of BiN, for example, with the same restrictions would look absolutely ghastly.

Still, as you say mate, it's up to Matrix to convince folks to buy the game..... those of us who have played it can only give our opinions when the time comes. I think many will find an alternative to WW2 a refreshing change, especially with a system that both grogs and very casual wargamers will enjoy..... and it can't be a bad thing that the forthcoming movie is likely to create a lot of interest in the period.

Well, I just raised the screenshot size limit for this forum to 500k. Let's see if we can sway Oleg and Dave...

Ok, this is still a compressed JPEG, but see if this looks better to you - from the Gaza battle...

Regards,

- Erik

Thank you very much, Erik. That looks much better. Now I'm interested. Looks like you made a sale. I think I will buy this game when it comes out. Seeing is believing as they say.
