MG: KP/AtD for BiN interface?

Battles In Normandy is the third game in the Decisive Battles game series. Battles in Normandy recreates all aspects of the Normandy campaign, from the landings on the first day to the final climax of the campaign at Falaise. Strategic Studies Group rewrote the Decisive Battles game engine for Battles in Normandy with a host of new special rules for amphibious and airborne operations, plus a huge number of other enhancements.

MG: KP/AtD for BiN interface?

Post by RealChuckB »

Hi:

I purchased KP last year and have to say that I never really played it (part of the problem was the "CD in drive" copy-protection and my laptop).
Now I bought BiN and this thing is a beauty! After working through the great tutorials (they're fantastic), I installed KP again to take another look. While the scenario looks very interesting, I think it will be really hard to go back to the old interface, because even with my limited BiN experience, I would say that the BiN interface is vastly superior (the higher resolution alone is a huge plus).

My question (suggestion!): Is there any plan to offer an updated KP and AtD scenario that would be playable with the new BiN interface? I don't know how much of a problem that would be (maybe it can even be done by one of the scenario gurus), but I am sure that a lot of people would be willing to pay for it (thinking of something like the AtD price).

What do you think?

If you have KP/ATD and BiN in the same directory eg:Matrix Games you may have noticed when going through the "B" and "F" buttons you'll find all the scenarios of both games in your BiN menu[X(]. I have inquired about this, as they appear to work for me eg:ATD with BiN interface, but i was told there are some other factors needed for them to be "playable". It shouldn't be long before we find out...basically it would be three games for the price of one...sort of[;)][:D].

I loaded one KP scenario into BiN and it seems to largely work (although there are some graphic anomalies ...)

Let's see ...

the game engines require slightly tweeked paramaters for the games, I would suggest waiting because these probably all will be "ported" to Go BIN soon by the user community.

Hmmm, have always thought the Russians had a slight advantage in both KP & ATD.[:)]
