Optional(House) Rules

Post by vonpaul »

Might as well start a thread discussing which options people like/dislike playing with because......well I'm bored at work.[>:]

Our group usually plays with all options except

-limited o/seas supply - too much hassle, makes the game more realistic i guess but WIF is long enough as it is.
-Nationalist attack weakness - chinese units sux anyway.
-We havent played with Convoy in flames expansion yet so i cant really comment on any of that extra stuff
-LIF - too much freaky stuff going on, the concept is good but i have seen the Japanese get stomped by American leaders *hint* dont worry about building alot of A/C Carriers as the Americans just build all your battleships wait for Storm and sail adjacent to the main japanese battle fleet and GS it all (this happened to me in our ONLY LIF game)[:@] then PS/invade it.
-Factory construction/destruction - we use a house rule that means you dont need the engineer to repair factories, but still get their benefits in regards to rivers.
-Intelligence (yet more time for little gain)
Not a complete list by any means as this is all based of memory (and i havent played a game of WIF for almost a year, playing EIA (another great ADG designed game)at the moment and that is taking up my weekly gaming session :(

At least you have a weekly gamin session!! Bring on CEiA.

We never played oil, too cumbersome.
We tanked LiF for the same reasons you did, plus the board is already crowded enough
