15 ships to 8 and I have 2 BB's that fire 4" shells to the Jap CA's 8 inchers and yes , my Allied TF had a fresh supply of Ammo. Bad luck? or faulty cgn's? (computer generated numbers)It's only the end of Jan '42 ...is there any hope??

It seems all i can do is just sit at Pearl with a blindfold and ciggarette.....
It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

It's worse than that - Revenge and Royal Sovereign fired 15" shells, which were about 8 times as heavy as the 8" shells.

I had a very similar experience with the POW and Repulse, (and numerous cruisers and DDs) -- actually maybe even more embarassing as a few CAs, a CVL and a few destroyers defeated an entire 25 ship Allied battle fleet loaded for bear (I will be posting this under my thread tomorrow (A Day That Will Live in Infamy...) My conclusion is Capt. Phillips stinks as a TF commander. He pretty much blew three engagements in a row (or four, depending if you want to count the one he avoided). and I will relieve him as soon as I get some political points in the bank (right now, using them up for other more important things.) I suspect your task force commander may also need replacing. Of course. the Long Lance also helps the IJN immensely - taking one 24" Long Lance is like taking two 21" Allied torps.

Yes, they SHOULD have fired those 15" ers, but for some reason on the combat text message screen , they were only firing their 4 inchers. It amazes me how the U.S., while faced with these incredible odds at the beginning of the war, came back and defeated the Japs.[&o][&o][&o]

Oh, well, in the meantime I am trying to find a fix for the game freezing up on me at the moment[&:]

That's easy. Detroit, Pittsburgh, Texas Oil, Pennsylvania Coal, etc, etc, etc...
...the bravest are surely those who have the clearest vision of what is before them, glory and danger alike, and yet notwithstanding go out and meet it.
