Save your money. Both games you mention are obsolete and simplistic in comparison to SPWaW. They're mentioned occasionally in this Forum because some players find it difficult to move beyond last century. You don't need either unless you're curious about antiques.

Both are based on modern battles, after de WWII, from the fifties to present day. You can find information and even a demo to download in
www.wargamer.com

The have even a version of SP they call SPWWII and you can download it. Personally I find SPWAW extremely superior, but I haven´t tested the latest modern battles yet. I know they are developing their own version of Yugoslav wars and some other modern conflicts. Take a look if you are interested in.

SP2 was fun to play, but 3 just plain sucked. Especially the infantry representation was silly.

SPWAW is based on the Steel Panthers 3 code.

If sp3 never exsisted,neither would your beloved SPWAW

Also SPWAW,though the best Steel Panthers game ,
is horribly flawed by the original sp3 code.
